Matt has issues with Binkis. Grace has issues with binkis. Lydia, well she just needs a binki. I have been battling Grace for at least a year now about not stealing Lydia's binkis. I have relented to letting Grace have one if she takes a nap. Yes I know that no self-respecting mom would under any circumstances allow it but I need the break. Matt however has big issues with this and decided to solve the problem himself. The other day I was cleaning out Matt's closet and what do I find hidden in his baseball mitt? 15 Binkis. I went ballistic. You would think that I just discovered my 10 year old's stash of drugs. For all you Binki moms out there you can relate to the frantic searches through the house looking for that binki so you can get your screaming baby to sleep. For months I have searched under couches, in diaper bags, in the car for a binki that I had just hours before. I felt like I was loosing my mind only to find out that 10 year old was sneaking them away so I would just give up and be done with binkis. I am considering returning his Christmas presents, canceling his birthday, and making him babysit Lydia late at night without a small plastic magical device that puts her to sleep.

Savannah's Baptism

Savannah and her cousin Ireland were baptized Saturday, July 26th. It was a beautiful meeting and the spirit was there. Thank you for all that participated!

Savannah's cousin Ireland came all the way from New York state and they were baptized together in Sara's parents' ward building in Orem, Utah. Sara and Scott were both baptized in the same church and baptismal font. I baptized Savannah, and Ireland was baptized by her dad Scott Hacking.

We are so proud of Savannah and Ireland and their decision to follow the Savior's example and be baptized into his church by those who have the priesthood authority, just like John the Baptist.

Happy Birthday Triplets!

Happy Birthday Savannah, Mandy, and Macey! Savannah was born one year exactly after her twin cousins. Don't they look like triplets? They love getting together. Last year to celebrate their birthdays they got their ears pierced. Amanda their other cousin convinced her mom to let her get hers pierced with them 8 months earlier than planned. Gotta love peer pressure!

Vernal and Dinosaur Land

A couple of months ago we made a day trip out to Vernal Utah, which is about a 3.5 hour drive to the east from Lehi. Matt did a report on Uinta County and he informed me that Vernal is the county seat. Matt got extra credit on his report for visiting the county and he also got some great photos and video for his report and presentation.

We went to the Dinosaur Land museum and visited the national park and saw an old cabin and some neat petroglyphs. The quarry was closed because the building was unsafe do to the ground shifting, bummer. They say that they might fix it by 2010.

Tiny Tornados

Yesterday I had my carpets cleaned. When the carpet man finished, he reported on the results. The poop in the middle of the room came right out (Grace changing her own diaper). I couldn't get the bleach spots out, of course (zit cream that Grace got into), but the blue stuff (play-dooh) came all the way out and the red stuff lightened up a bit (nail polish). Oh, and the toothpaste on the stairs came out also. (Grace or Micah, I would put my money on Grace.)

Timo has started calling Grace a tornado. You can predict that it is coming, you know that it is going to do a lot of damage, but you're not really sure where it is going to touch down and what is going to be destroyed.

I decided to post pictures of some of the things my monsters have done.

Some things that I don't have pictures of: Grace putting self tanner all over her body. Grace's poop art creations(that's poop on Grace's face in the bathtub). Micah's drawing with pen all over Timo's week old $700 flat screen computer monitor. Micah, who took off his own poopy diaper and slid down every step into the basement. That was right after they got into the butter and made a mess under the kitchen sink which was right after they opened orange jello and made a mess in the pantry. Grace's weekly stripping down for all the neighbors. The chandelier hanging by the wire because Grace climbed the only chair I left down and climbed onto the chairs I had sitting on table and pulled it down. Micah and Zach opening food storage containers of Comet and shaking them over everything in our basement. Micah in the buff waving his underwear at my neighbor's grandparents while yelling: "Bye, see ya later, Happy Birthday!" We have gone a day without the air conditioner because the two demons turned off the switch and a day without water because they flipped up a the switch. Grace brought in a bucket of sand from the sandbox and dumped it on my rug. Yesterday Grace got out the bag of frozen blueberries and dumped it on the same rug. The list goes on and on. Everyday there is an adventure. It is impossible to keep them out of trouble. With Savannah and Matt I never had to use childproof locks, but with Grace and Micah I have put locks on the doors, fridge, and blocked off most the basement with plywood and they still manage to get through to reap havoc.

A Magical Place Where Dreams Come True!

Last week we went to Disney Land as a family for the first time, and it was a blast!

On our way down we stayed a night in St. George and the kids loved swimming in the pool and watching cartoon network (we don't have cable at home so they always get their fill of cartoons whenever we stay at a hotel). The next day we went on to Las Vegas where we had lunch at In and Out Burger. Sara and I were excited, but the kids not so much. They said they like McDonalds better.

We went to the beach in Newport for our first day in California. Unfortunately I left the camera in the Hotel, but take my word for it, we had a great time. We had so much fun that we all ended up getting some kind of sunburn. Sara put sunscreen on the babies but didn't get the sunscreen all the way around their eyes. It looked like we smacked them around, but honest, those are sunburns around those eyes!

We spent the next three days at Disney Land and we a had a blast. Mark and Christina were there with their family. The twins Mandy and Macy danced at Disney Land with their dance group. It was neat to see them perform, the did really well with their duet. Miranda performed with the older age group and did a fantastic job! Burr and Jen also came with their kids, the kids had so much fun with their cousins at Disney Land. It was nice to have family with us on the trip, because at night we would trade of babysitting and the grown-ups got a chance to go out at night! Burr did a great job running all over the place rounding up the fast-passes. We had so much fun I am ready to go again!

At lunch today I was at target in phoenix buying some gum, and when I walked up to check out I saw Jeff Hornecek bagging his own groceries. So I sat and waited for him to finish and I walked up to him and asked him if I could get a picture with him, and he said yes.

Lydia Charlotte Brimhall Has Arrived

Lydia Charlotte was born today, December 14th 2007, at 2:30 pm in the Mount Timpanogos Hospital in Orem Utah. She weighed in at 9lbs 12oz and was 21 inches long. Both Mom and baby are doing well. Sara was a real trooper as always!

Life Grows On!

Well, it has been a spell since we have posted anything. But we do have some worthy news. We finally have a yard! It has been three years since our last yard and we love having one again. We will put up some before and after pictures. We mowed the lawn for the first time last week, and we thought it was fun. I am sure that will soon wear off.

The kids have been busy. Matt finished basketball season and has just started machine pitch. He sounds like an active kid, but you usually can find him curled up somewhere reading a book. Savannah was behind in reading at the beginning of the school year. She has worked very hard and is at a level 20. They want them to be at 16 by the end of first grade. We are so proud of her! She is getting ready for her first dance recital at Tiffany's studio The Pointe.

Micah and Grace are always busy. They are very active and help each other to come up with wicked little things to do while mom is looking the other way. This picture is of them with their dump trucks. (They also both have buses that they love to drive around together.) They moved a kitchen chair to the pantry and got out a full box of Allbran cereal, they filled up the trucks and raced back and forth from the kitchen to the study. You can imagine the mess. The picture is a bit swept into a pile, but there were little bits of the cereal everywhere!

Timo Savannah and Matthew went to the Scout Expo last Saturday at Thanksgiving Point. It was windy and freeeeezing cold, but they still had a fun time. We also visited Great Grandma Burnett, she is so wonderful. Grandma is going to turn 90 this year. Aunt Pat is taking great care of her.

Timo was released from Scouts (Haleluia!) and is now serving in Elders quorum. He is training for a Triathalon in July. I am serving in Primary teaching the 10 year old girls and doing Activity Days with them. To the dismay of Timo I have joined my old scrap booking group again. That's all for now Folks!

We hope that you are all having a very merry Christmas. We have a new family blog that we are going to use to keep everyone up to date with the Brimhall family.

Sara took the kids to visit Santa and they had a great time, except for Grace. If you look at the following pictures of Grace and Micah you will see their opposite reactions to Santa.

Savannah lost her tooth this morning and is looking forward to a visit from both Santa and the Tooth Fairy, all in the same night!

Also, Micah and Grace can be little monsters and make big messes.
